The general consensus is that if there's a Terran in the opposite team, you ought to go tech, more specifically, a 2/3 Factories build. Terran only has two basic build orders (with some variations), and now let's take a look when to choose each. Once mines are down this is a timing window for an attack.Ĭhoosing Build Order for Terran in Team Games Ĭhoosing the build order with Terran is the most easiest out of all races, because no matter what you choose, you can make it work. Most of the time with vultures you'll have to forcefully remove the other team from middle (which you'll need speed to help micro) in order to lay mines. Speed gives you mobility to micro which is generally what you need before you can lay mines anyway.
#STARCRAFT BROOD WAR TERRAN STRATEGY UPGRADE#
In most cases speed is the upgrade you should get first for a number of reasons. Speed is also crucial for setting up mines and meeting units for an attack or 2v1 situation. Vultures, however, because of their speed can engage most small units without escort if they're out of position. This ball of units becomes more than the sum of its parts at this point and it is extremely difficult for the enemy to successfully engage this force head on-which is what the M&M/zealot combination should try to do. Because M&M isn't as mobile as vultures, when possible they will pretty much always want to be escorted by zealots. But vulture micro is a bit different than M&M micro. Terran will pretty much always want to link up with zealots for a meat shield.

If we use the terms established in the beginner's guide, terran is always ranged support. But that also means that Terran played right can be quite deadly, and it's always scary to play against a gosu Terran. Quite on contrary, Terran is one of the hardest races to play on BGH, because it's hard to keep up the macro while constantly keeping an eye on your units. Terran may not have as much build orders to choose from as Protoss, but that doesn't mean it's anything easier to play it whatsoever.
